Dar es Salaam, April 15, 2016. The National Microfinance Bank (NMB) has recruited 30 talented graduates to join in its 2 years Graduate Trainee program which upon successful completion, they will be employed and posted in different departments at head office and branches.

 

 

 

NMB business strategy aims to continue contributing to the growth of employment creation in the country specifically targeting the inexperienced university graduates. The graduates are meant to undergo a two year practical orientation in banking before being considered for placement into permanent roles within the bank.

 

 

This is the second intake of fresh graduates into graduate trainee program to undergo an intensive training and take up positions within the bank after their two years program.

 

At least 312 applications were received and after a careful scrutiny of applications 125graduates were shortlisted and invited for several assessments and interviews.

 

 

The process was done in a transparent and auditable manner the shortlist was further subjected to quality assurance review to ensure accuracy, completeness and conformity to the advertised requirements.

 

The NMB Managing Director – Ineke Bussemaker said the bank has remained the largest employer in the banking industry commanding over 3000 employees offering competitive total compensation, the Bank also provides a motivating work environment for its employees.

 

“I am very happy that we have recruited 30 trainees who in the course of two years, they will be absorbed in different activities at head office and others across our extensive branch network we have also  ensured that we have judious  gender parity with a 50/50 male to female ratio.,” said Ineke

 

10 years since privatization in 2005, NMB has added up over 1,500 jobs to over 3,000 employees in 2016 making one of the largest employer in the financial sector in Tanzania and a significant contributor to the country’s economy.
